Team 3 Green

Sarsha Wightman

Hi, I’m Sarsha Wightman and I am excited to be working at Lincoln Primary. We have moved back into the area after spending the past three years living in Pleasant Point.

Kyle and I have three children at home, Cooper who is in Year 5 and Elodie and Arabelle who are in Year 1. When I am not being a taxi driver for the children and their extra activities I enjoy trying to keep fit myself. I have always played netball although am thinking it may be time to retire from competitive sport anyway. My goal this year is to complete the Christchurch Half Marathon with a friend.

I know that this year will be awesome for all those involved with Syndicate 3.

Leonie Young

My name is Leonie Young (Mrs Young). I have been teaching at Lincoln Primary for quite a number of years. I have found it to be an awesome school and there is always plenty of change to keep it interesting.

I have 2 boys who are off overseas completing their studies and working.
At home I have my husband (Nigel) and my dog (Rusty). Rusty is a chocolate labrador crossed with a German wire-head pointer.

I love sport and have played quite a few different types but just watch sports now. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, walking and reading.

Chelsea Bremner

Kia ora, my name is Chelsea Bremner and this will be my first year teaching. I am very excited to be starting my career at Lincoln Primary alongside the awesome teachers in Syndicate 3! I may be a familiar face to some of you, as I grew up in this area.

I spend a lot of time with my family- I have a younger brother (Michael) and sister (Alana). I love being around people and keeping active. Sport is a massive part of my life, I play competitive netball and also enjoy coaching. Last year I decided to give rugby a try, and joined the new Lincoln Uni/ township team.

I can’t wait to get to know everyone, and am looking forward to a great year in Syndicate 3!

Marie Keely

Hi I'm Marie Keely.  I live in Lincoln with my husband Dave Nicol and 3 children. I was born in Dublin and grew up in England.  Lincoln University drew us over here and we settled in the then small town of Lincoln.  Having taught at Lincoln Primary for many years I still arrive each morning excited to see what the day will bring.  I see my role as instilling confidence in every child along with a passion to learn and attempt new things.

My other role is taxi driver to my children.  I play various sports including soccer, touch rugby and netball.  Although anyone watching from the sideline would observe that there is certainly more talking happening than running.  I enjoy walking and am highly motivated if there is a cafe at the end of the trek.

Robyn Tobeck

I have been at Lincoln Primary School for a considerable period of time but I really enjoy the association with the different children and staff that I come into contact with each day.

I enjoy sport and played netball in my youth. I continue to play badminton, golf and my greatest passion tennis.

I am the Lincoln Zone Sports Association and organise a large number of the Zone Tournaments.

Outside of school I enjoy my life on the family farm where I am unrecognisable as the Miss T of the classroom.

Rod Newton

Hi, my name is Rod, otherwise known as Mr Newton. I was born and grew up in and around Christchurch. After studying Ecology at the University of Canterbury, I spent time involved in different education programs in Japan, Taiwan and China before returning to NZ. I have also taught Environmental Education, Outdoor Education and ESOL.

I love travelling, learning about new cultures, photography, sports and anything with an environmental focus. I believe in providing an environment that allows students to learn from and follow their own interests and passions.

I look forward to having a great year of growth in Team 3 Red.
